Northern Ireland’s Scottish Open Entries

The entry lists have been released for the BDO Scottish Open 2019, which will take place from the 15th to the 17th February.

Richard Veenstra and Anastasia Dobromyslova are the two defending champions in the singles events. They will both return and try to retain their titles. In the ladies, notable entries include Deta Hedman, Lisa Ashton, Lorraine Winstanley and Fallon Sherrock. In the men’s entries include Scott Mitchell, Jim Williams, Dean Winstanley, Wesley Harms, Andy Hamilton, William Borland, Wes Newton, Adam Smith-Neale and Tony O’Shea.

From Northern Ireland we have quite a few entries in the mens and ladies.

Some of the Area One Darts Team
Left to Right Alan Boyd, Johnny Cree, Aaron McKendry, Stephen Pinkerton, Hedgie McKendry. Front: James Walker

Mens:  Area One are sending the most entries across the water – they include Hedgie McKendry, brothers William B McKendry and Aaron McKendry, Ben ‘Hightower’ Kirkpatrick, Leon Crawford, Alan Boyd and James Walker. In fact two other ex Area One throwers Jason Lockhart and Rodney Kane are also on the entries list along with Area 9’s Andy McMahon, Nigel Peden. Norman Cairns and Lisburn’s Warren & Eddie Mullan are also on the list. In total 24 men’s entries from Northern Ireland. Ballyclare’s Neil Duff and Belfast’s Darren Clifford have also entered – we will be looking out for these two to go deep in the competition if current form is anything to go by.

Ladies: In the ladies we have a good number or entries also. We have NI International Grace Crane who was beat in the final of the recent NIDO Individuals. Also making the trip are Lauren Conn, Jennfier Donaghy, Julie Hunter and Gail Mullan. And from the Ballymena district we have Katie Lynn, Donna Service and Isobel Niklas.

NI Darts wishes all of them the very best at the Scottish Open. Go out and enjoy it, after all it’s only a game of darts… Smash it!
